Changing the world always takes a village - and for advocacy to be sustainable, we need to bring people on the journey with us

With everything else we have going on, there’s no need to put pressure on ourselves to build everything from scratch. Shared knowledge enables us to be more efficient, freeing up more time and resources for creativity.

The Climate Council Advocacy workstream is focused on creating an accessible community of practice : a safe space where we can generate and share knowledge, reinforcing our energy to do good work and thrive.

Each section listed below describes a need voiced by game developers, and insights we’ve gathered to date to help meet that need. Please feel free to take what is most useful for you. As we discover more needs and opportunities, we will be sure to add them here.

  • "I need talking points."

I just make games. What can I say when people ask why the video game industry needs to take climate action?

Plasticity: girl walking down the street - the street itself split into two environments. On the left, there is a green, lush neighborhood filled with grass and trees. On the right, there is broken asphalt, a broken down car, and fallen street lamps.
  • “I want my team or employer to take on a sustainability project, but it’s all new to them/us.”

I’m passionate about doing this, and I shouldn’t have to do this alone. How can I start building a climate council ?

Nuna, a young Iñupiaq girl, talks with the Owl Man, an elder who gives her the only weapon in the game - a bola, which is a rock bound in rope.
